25 things to do before turning 25

Hi friends,

Here is my list of 25 things to do before turning 25:

#1. Pursue a hobby:

Remember that one thing that you always wanted to do, but never had enough time to pursue it? Well now is the time to actually do it!

#2. Learn to appreciate things:

If you like something, just appreciate it.

#3. Do random acts of kindness/helping someone for no reason:

If nothing else at least it would make the world a better place. You will feel good for being the reason for that smile on someone’s face. 🙂

#4. Travel more:

Travel to new unknown places, go on exciting road trips, explore, enjoy!

#5. Read more:

It can be anything – books, novels, newspaper etc. At least it is better than being glued to your laptop/mobile screens 24×7.

#6. Write a blog:

I already have a head start on that one! Started this blog in the final year of my college, and posted regularly. Though the frequency reduced with time, job and whatever… but now I am planning to be more active here from now on.

#7. Grow a full beard:

Well you are a grown man now, start looking like one. And besides, beards are always awesome dudes!

#8. Go on a spontaneous adventurous trip:

Nothing is more exciting than a spontaneous adventurous trip and especially if you love traveling like me this is a must have on the list.

#9. Exercise – take care of your body:

You won’t stay young forever and as your body starts to get old, you need to take more care of it. Now would be a good time to start in order to maintain a good health in the long run.

#10. Learn to cook:

Learning to cook, (if you haven’t already) can be fun, good for your health, and your bank balance. Try new recipes and start with easy, simple and healthy meals.

#11. Start saving a little:

If you start saving now then only you will be able to develop this habit for the future. You don’t have to save a lot and act like a miser all the times in order to save; starting small is also a good start. Your older self; will thank you later for starting early! 🙂

#12. Be irresponsible. It is allowed sometimes:

You are (or soon will be) only 25 you are not married (probably) and don’t have the responsibilities of a house, wife, kids and all that. It is Okay to be irresponsible sometimes.

#13. Learn to be alone:

The relationship that we have with ourselves is the most important one in our life. You will never spend as much time as you do with yourself. Learn to enjoy your own company and enjoy being alone. “Sometimes you just need a little bit of alone time for yourself to clear up your mind and see things from a new perspective.”

#14. Learn to say “No”:

Learning to say “no” is an important skill and one that can dramatically increase the quality of our lives. Do not give in to peer-pressure, be assertive and say No if you do not want to do something. It is your life and you should be the one making the decisions.

#15. Try out a completely new dish:

Trying out something new once in a while can be fun. It can be a new dish – at a new unknown restaurant, or maybe something that you prepared yourself at home.

#16. Learn to let go of the past:

Especially the bad memories, past is not a thing to cling on to for the rest of your life. Learn your lessons from the mistakes and move on. If you let go of your past then only will you have time for new experiences.

#17. Have a good conversation with a complete stranger:

Even complete strangers might have awesome things to share; you might learn new things and make a new friend.

#18. Pulling off all nighters:

It might seem nothing to you now, as this is what we did every other night in college… but pulling off an all-nighter becomes more difficult as we grow up … so better do it while you still can. 😛

#19. Go to a music concert:

I believe that this is an experience we all should have at least once in our lives.

#20. Eat healthy:

Eat healthy and stay Fit!

#21. Plant a Tree:

… and don’t just plant it, care for it afterwards too! I had once planted a plant for a school biology project, but never planted a tree. It feels good to water it daily and watch it grow. Plus it is good for the environment.

#22. Try meditation:

By meditation I do not mean anything religious or even spiritual. All you have to do is sit peacefully and relax. On an average day, there are so many things in our head, so many things to do, responsibilities to fulfill. Clear all these troubling thoughts and tasks from your head and just relax for a while. It will feel good. 🙂

#23. Do 30 days of something:

You know like 30 days of Writing every day, going vegetarian, taking a picture daily, helping someone daily etc… The point is to start a new habit and see if it’s worth sticking on to.

#24. Turn Off the internet for a while:

A task that seems so hard to do at first but you’ll get used to it once you start. Sure the internet is a source of information and a very interesting time pass, but you should learn to live in the real world too, connect with people around you go out, meet new people!

#25. Buy something expensive for yourself:

Well, because you deserve it! After all the hard work you do, doing something for you in a sort of rewarding way is good!

That completes the list, hope to finish most of them (if not all) by next year.

Do read and give your comments on the same!

Cheers! 🙂
